MeetUp Time is Here Again!!

A MeetUp is an informal get together for those interested in connecting and informally hanging out with other ActiveRain members and real estate professionals in their area.  AR used to travel around the Country bringing RainCamp to one city at a time and the greatest part was finally meeting 'Rainers face to face.  Since RainCamp is now done virtually to accommodate larger attendance, we have members orchestrate MeetUps in their areas so ‘Rainers can still meet and get that live interaction that is so very special.

With RainCamp taking place August 30th, this round of AR MeetUps should be anytime from August 25th to August 31st.  Many have found success with Happy Hours and some even meet for breakfast or host a potluck in their home.  Again, the venue and time is for the host to choose.  A casual bar or restaurant seems to be the most popular.  And to sweeten the deal, anyone that shows up to a MeetUp will receive 1,000 AR points!

If you'd like to host a MeetUp, please:

  • Email the Date, Time, Venue & Full Address to kerrie@activerain.com
  • Blog about the MeetUp
  • Invite others in your area to attend
  • Tweet, Google+ and Facebook your event
  • Email me at the end of the event the usernames of those in attendance so I may award the much deserved points
Nothing more is asked of you as everyone is on their own for food and drinks.  MeetUp are just a great way for you guys and gals to get together, kick back and hang out!

Location List Coming Soon!

I'll soon compile an official list of all the MeetUp locations for everyone to see and market this through our outlets.  If you don't see one in your area, then step up and host.   Try to shoot for 15 people to show up.  Last round we had over 300 members in attendance all over the Country so let’s beat that number!

Tarpon Springs, FL
Sacramento, CA
Wilton, CT

From the bottom of my toes to the tip of my nose, thank you....thank you all who keep this amazing tradition alive.  This is what makes AR unlike any other place out there.

I hosted one last spring in PA and never blogged about it. I will do it this weekend, I promise!

We had me, Cherie Gottshall, Ernie Steele and Gettysburg Gerry in attendance in Pine Grove that day.

Let's see what we can pull off again on the 30th for you.

OK, This fantastic beachfront restaraunt is as good as it gets. It's right next door to Cardiff Reef, my favorite surf spot. For any RE professionals who have an annual State park pass you can take an afternoon surf, leave your vehicle in the parking lot and walk 50 feet to the PCG.

I just stopped by yesterday and it's beautiful and you just can't beat the view and atmosphere and the folks that run it are great.

Pacific Coast Grill Opens in Cardiff

Just in time for summer, locals have a new seaside dining option on Coast Highway 101.

The much-anticipated Pacific Coast Grill opened its doors in Cardiff Tuesday afternoon, just in time for summer—and, about a year after moving from its original location in Solana Beach.

Owners Steve Goldberg and Phil Berkovitz have completely revamped the beachfront restaurant, which offers sweeping views of the ocean from every seat in the house.

Goldberg’s wife and designer Georgia Goldberg worked with architect Steve Adams to create the classic Baja-inspired façade, and the interior décor blends a neutral color palette with natural beach elements, like reclaimed boat wood and rocks.

The ground level includes a raw bar, dining room and heated patio—and upstairs you’ll find another patio, bar, wine cellar, lounge area, and private dining room.

Executive chef Israel “Izzy” Balderas has brought back several popular dishes, including the shrimp dumplings, lobster tacos, and spicy char-pork tenderloin. There’s also West Coast black mussels, seasonal oysters, coconut-and-crab crusted mahi mahi, Hawaiian-style baby back ribs, and chile-rubbed filet mignon—just to name a few.

Pacific Coast Grill is located at 2526 S. Coast Highway. The restaurant will initially be open for dinner only, and according its website, is now hiring staff for the new location. For more information, visit pacificcoastgrill.com or call 760.479.0721.

I am so surprised that Orlando never had a meet-up. I would go there, only about an hour... this time looks like I will go to Cocoa Beach. Diana is hosting one, and this is relatively close
