It does not happen very often, but foreclosures in Locust Creek do occur. Locust Creek Homes are in an exclusive neighborhood and are all high end homes in eastern Louisville KY. The Dobbs Team has been working on getting one ready in “The Estates of Locust Creek” since the Jefferson County Commissioner’s sale of July 10th. The first thing that I do when going to the property is take lots of pictures to document the condition.
In this case, the first thing that I noticed is that the back door was open. Closer examination showed that someone had forced entry into the house by breaking the door jamb. We had to file a police report and wait for an insurance adjuster which just adds time to getting the house on the market.
As I turned to look at the kitchen, I could see that all of the appliances had been removed. This house was initially listed for $975,000, so as you can imagine the appliances were high end. We have ordered new appliances including a 36” gas cooktop and refrigerator with French doors. I am always amazed at this house and many others by the things that are missing. I cannot count the number of switch plates that are missing throughout the house. These are just ordinary plates that can be picked up at Home Depot for less than a quarter each.
This house is a little different in that it had an elevator. It did not function, but I figured that it would not take much to make it work again. I called Executive Elevator, and they came right out. It turns out that we needed a new battery charger and batteries to run the electronics.
If you would like more details on this house, feel free to contact Steve Dobbs at 502-429-3866. We think that we will have this listed on within a week or so.
