Wild Wednesday - A Visitor on our Patio

This really happened on Tuesday but I saved it for today. Our patio was host to this young deer and when I tried to quietly take the shot, she looked right at me. She was apparently enjoying chomping on some of our plants out there.

Young Deer

After a few minutes of staring at each other, she bounded off. I hope she comes back soon.

Toni: My gosh, that looks like a scene right out of a Disney movie!  Have you ever thought about putting your photographs together in a collection, like a coffee-table book?  I always enjoy your pictures- Thanks for sharing!  :)

As we know from deer in the Sierra Nevada foothills, they can be serious plant chompers.  Sometimes residents have a love-hate relationship with them, because of it!  Yet, looking at the eyes and the little spots of that critter makes it difficult to have any mortal disdain against them. . .Especially when they are in someone else's yard:-)

Owls, deer, .... I do think I live in a too densely populated area!! One would never find either one of those in my backyard in Central Pinellas County. Pasco County and New Port Richey have tons of wildlife to offer, what a great photo!

Toni,

What a beautiful photo, and it looks like you two connected.  They are definitely chompers of plants and like Myrl said, they are adorable when they are in someone else's yard.  Happy Wednesday, A

Wow, everyone likes deer! Yes, they eat my plants but I don't worry about it, I just plant more ;) Thank you all and have a great day.

Tanja - we live across from Starkey Preserve and we have a huge wooded area behind us. Lots of interesting critters.

What a great shot. Sorry about your plants. We also have to deal with our deer that enjoy eating plants and flowers.

Hi Toni, These are sweet looking animals and while they can be a pest with certain types of plants, it is hard to not want them to visit and have them repsond to " OK, Look up here and say Cheese". :-) Too cute.

Toni I find the deer are now rather fearless, they look at you as if to say, you are invading my space.  Lovely shot.

Kerrie - thanks!

Carl - it's okay if she eats my plants; I don't mind.

Regina - I think she must have known.

Dianne - she does look like she's posiing :)

William - she seemed to know what I was doing even though I was inside and she was out.

Mike - I'm sure she'll be back; we see them a lot.

Jennifer - the ones we have are very skittish. They will take off if you move too fast.

Thanks everyone.
