Alan: I'm a mortgage lender. I have enough excitement in my life. I also have enough people that think merely by BEING a mortgage lender, that I'm a gashole. I don't need to add to that list. I stay clear and keep my opinions to myself. I also don't go looking for ways to get myself worked-up. Did I mention that I'm a mortgage lender and that my life is exciting enough???
Gene
May - I have no idea what the inspiration behind this post was (cough, hair ball), but for practical business purposes ... I deem you correct.
I may have to institute a "Gene Mundt" philosophy going forward but I know I won't. That's just me. Besides, my life ain't nearly that exciting;)
Good advice, my friend. Even if I may not follow it with some of my antics.
just lurking and reading, again, but this time I thought I'd let you know
Alan, I'm always the last to know when something has gone on - but I agree. I think before you write anything on the internet you should ask yourself how you would feel if it were on the headlines of your local newspaper?
Sharon
Alan - Politicis and religion are generally good topics to avoid for a reason. They're explosive.
I don't want to be the gashole Alan, let me know if I cross that line.
Hi Alan. So engage brain before hitting submit?
Patricia - yep... very few good outcomes by flaming.
Evelyn - exactly.... you could create a chasm "wider than a mile".... LOL!
Joy - no, you're not naive.
Gene - and what is it you do for a living?
Debbie - agreed.
Jason - I thought you'd already given that "mortgage brokerage" thing a try.
Tammy - love it twinsie!
Sharon - or would your mother approve?
Christine - they sure can be.
Tom - you'll be the first to know.
Conrad - that's the concept.
lurk. or was that a burp??
Hi Darlin', I could surely have used this advice the other day. I could have saved myself a few hours of angst trying to teach empathy to the unteachable. Oh well. Live and learn. Have a great day!
B'Liz - it could have been the Biryani from last night.
Susan - I can't have you angst-ridden. I just can't.
While I don't write about politics or religion unless it is a local real estate issue, I have also taken a Fair Housing Pledge. I'm committed to continue in the development of fair housing practices in accordance with my real estate profession which means refusing to tolerate non-compliance. Therefore I would be remiss, if I did not comment to set the record straight on some "dark posts" while still being civil and cordial.
Mitchell - you wouldn't be remiss for "not commenting"... the Fair Housing Pledge does not require you to right every wrong that you see occuring around you. Merely to make sure that your behaviour and activities fall in line with Fair Housing practices.
I've had that disease a couple of times myself.
Alan - as usual, I click onto ActiveRain in my own time warp and miss the excitement or rather negativity... I just search for the enlightenment, the fun, the humor and that is why I am drawn to people like you!
Very well said. No good comes from arguing politics or religion with the other side, and especially not in a business seting such as Active Rain. Save it for Ummm, how about never. Or at least until you have your own TV talk show.
Oops. Guess I should have read this post before I commented on your 'Bad REALTOR' post!! : )
Tammie - I think we all find ourselves on the wrong side of this issue ocassionally. We just shouldn't make a habit of it.
Gay - not to mention my rugged good looks. ;-)
Scott - ooooooh... have you heard something?
Chris - nah...that weren't politics.
