I'm 50 now, but remember them to some degree, though they were kinda on the way out in the late 60's, I think.
Irene,
Yes, I do. How was your resignation weekend? A
You are such a woman of few words... maybe your tongue is sticky from licking green stamps...
I remember them with great fondness. We saved them and carefully put them in the savings books. We watched them stack up and then with great anticipation we went down to the stamp redemption store and got wonderous treasures. A great family activity, both saving and redeeming.
Hi Irene - That's a trip down memory lane I wasn't expecting. Yeah, they were everywhere when I was a kid - every drawer in the house, in the car, in jacket pockets...everywhere.
Irene
Yes I do, its to bad there not giving them out when we buy gas, if they did I would be filling the books fast.
Good luck and success.

Hi Winston, you saved your green stamps and got cool stuff with them.
Hi Ron and Alexandra, thanks for stopping by to see my green stamps.
My resignation weekend was fabulous. I learned how to do "wheelies" on a motorcycle.
Have an awesome day.
Hi Kevin, the green stamps were cool to save and then use for pots, dishes toys etc.
Hi Leslie, glad the green stamps brought back fond memories.
I grew up in a small town in Conn. , we had to mail our stamps to a redemption center and they
would send the item to our home.
Thanks for stopping by Dick. You are right they were everywhere. I remember this was
a rainy day project to put them in the books.
Mom got some neat stuff with them.
Hi John, I don't know if green stamps were a national thing with grocery stores,
but growing up in Conn. they were very popular.
Thinking of Popular, does anyone remember POPULAR CLUB?
More on that later if anyone is interested.
Glad you learned something new today.
Hi Lou, I know what you mean. It was a way to get you to the grocery store that gave them out with a purchase.
But since they were the only store in town, they probably did not have to do that, unless they
wanted to make "MEMORIES"
Have a great day.
Yes, I certainly do! And I remember Blue Chip Stamps too! I remember my first apartment was decorated with things I had obtained after redeeming Blue Chip Stamps:-) Wow, that seems like a lifetime ago. . .Actually, it was!
Hi Myrl, what were Blue Chip Stamps? I do not remember them.
May not have been available in my area.
Thanks for stopping by.
