Good advice - Funny I just got itchy after reading your post :)
Toni, great info, at this time of year, and always..hope it stays far away from me though :-)
Toni, I've been on a rant to my kids this morning about being careful when the grandkids are playing outside in the evenings-- there certainly is ALWAYS something to worry about these days! Great information!
Sorry about that, Kathy :)
Kristin - me too. I gave up my dawn walks for now.
Faith - it is important to take those precautions.
Very timely post, Toni. We have cases of West Nile Virus in Maryland. Everybody should take great care for good health. I will post your blog on Facebook.
Enjoy the summertime activities with your camera in hand.
Toni-great information. I was reading earlier this week about the number of West Nile Virus cases there are. It's especially important to be aware of this if you have any kind of auto-immune disease.
Hi Toni, I hate those darn things. We have one of those candles on the back porch which we light when we are hanging out there.
Toni,
Good stuff, and I can recall when I lived in Minnesota (the mosquito is the state bird :)there), a buzzing one in my bedroom at night, and the sheet over my head trying to sleep. Luckily those pests do not hang out in CA at least where we have lived. A
Good afternoon, Toni. Thanks for the warning however, bugs, especialyl West Nile mosquitoes, are not welcome here. Most of the municipalities spray to keep them away. The media also alerts us when an infected mosquito has been found in an area.
Stay safe.
Toni: These little pains in the behind are out in force...smart tips to stay safe during the season.
West Nile Virus is dangerous. In my country in the Philippines, it is a year round problem. Have had several friends hit by it and had to be hospitalized.
Hi Toni, this is a timely post - tips to fight the bite. We have so rain and water is standing in the pot needs to be empty.
Toni, such valuable information for anybody living in mosquito-prone Florida! I'll re-blog, because I have a daughter who gets bitten all the time without repellent, and I want to protect her and other people like her and spread the word!
Toni, good informative post, suggested. I removed some standing water near our flower bed...we need to be so cautious.
Toni, And some people are prone to get more bites than others. Our relative got so many bites the other evening (hundreds actually) that he had to go to the doctor to be checked out!
Thanks, Roy.
Kathy - that's so true.
Belinda - that's always good to do!
Alexandra - LOL, I bet it is. I thought it was in FL too.
Mary - we haven't had any problems here in our area either but the county does spray for the little darlings.
Anita - they are out there all summer long.
Jennifer - I didn't realize that the Philippines was so heavily inundated with them.
Kwee - we change our bird bath every day too.
Tanja - it's one of those things everyone needs to be aware of.
Rebecca - thank you. Good for you, I think most people forget to do that.
Larry and Sheila - you're right! I hope he is okay. I'm one of those they love to chew on.
Toni this is such a good post. My brother got west nile when he was just a little guy and he almost died. I know how serious this issue is. Stay safe down there. So far this year has been the lighest in a long time with those little buggers - thankfully.
