Does anyone still use an old fashioned “to do” list? You know, a piece of paper with your list of what you need to get done written with a pen for the day or within the week? Maybe I’m old fashioned…errr I’m only 27 so maybe an old soul is a better term but, I still break out a pen and paper when it comes to writing down items that are out of the daily norm that I need to get done.
I do this for 3 reasons:
1. It reminds me what I need to accomplish – both for my business and my personal life
2. I’ll actually do them if written down and the list is staring me in the face all day – too easy to dismiss a task on my cell phone without completing it
3. I like to cross through them once complete- Success and a feeling of accomplishment!
I don’t put anything on the list that I do daily such as blogging, listing pulls, market analysis, feeding the dog etc. Just items that need to get taken care of that aren’t part of daily tasks. Examples would be; balance bank accounts, create next month’s direct mail postcard, send thank you notes, clean house, and grocery shop. You get the idea!
