The Old Fashioned “To Do” List

By
Real Estate Agent with Amanda Davidson Real Estate Group Brokered By Real 0225221517

Does anyone still use an old fashioned “to do” list? You know, a piece of paper with your list of what you need to get done written with a pen for the day or within the week? Maybe I’m old fashioned…errr I’m only 27 so maybe an old soul is a better term but, I still break out a pen and paper when it comes to writing down items that are out of the daily norm that I need to get done.

I do this for 3 reasons:

1.     It reminds me what I need to accomplish – both for my business and my personal life

2.     I’ll actually do them if written down and the list is staring me in the face all day – too easy to dismiss a task on my cell phone without completing it

3.     I like to cross through them once complete- Success and a feeling of accomplishment!

I don’t put anything on the list that I do daily such as blogging, listing pulls, market analysis, feeding the dog etc. Just items that need to get taken care of that aren’t part of daily tasks. Examples would be; balance bank accounts, create next month’s direct mail postcard, send thank you notes, clean house, and grocery shop. You get the idea!

I had to smile thinking of all the bells, dings, rings, etc that go on in our home office:)  With that said YES I have a pad on my desk of daily To Do's!  Something about being able to check that list off makes me feel better.

Yes I do too!  I make my list every morning, but instead of writing it out i email it to myself.  Throughout the day I am looking to remind myself what HAS to be done today....You are not alone :)

Erv- As long as it works for you that's what matters!

John- Haha, sometimes I think I hear something going off and it's all in my head. I can picture your office! The act of checking it off makes me feel better too.

Kimberlee- That's a good way to save paper. Glad I'm not alone :)

I still keep a pad on my desk, and I normally keep one with me all the time.  I normally use my calendar on my iPhone, but I'm a paper list person too.  I like to check things off.  8-)

Mike- I agree, taking the pen an actually making a check is the best!

Amanda, don't know what I would do without my to-do list!    With business going like gang busters, I have to have this sheet of paper to not forget to get certain things completed!

Heard it's your birthday, hope it's very special Amanda. I also have a paper "to do" list. My husband makes fun of me...he uses evernote on his computer...I like to see it and physically cross it off item by item. :)
