I spent some time talking with someone who lives up in the Phoenix area. She loves to hike and being new to the state, had questions about hiking in Arizona. I don’t know a lot of places – but I do know a few – some sound awesome – like Sunset Canyon and Crystal Springs.
But I also happen to know some weird named areas that don’t sound appealing – but really, they are nice places to hike or walk.
These are a few places around Arizona to visit for a hike or for the day:
Booger Springs - In the Chiricahua Mountains near Willcox.
Death Trap Canyon - This place in the Whetstone Mountains near Benson.
Incinerator Ridge - In the Catalina Mountains (also known as Mt Lemmon area).
Devil's Bathtub – In the Rincon Mountains in Tucson but on the far east side.
Mud Spring – In the Catalina Mountains outside of Tucson.
Suicide Ridge - In the Mazatzal Mountains southwest of Payson.
Hell's Canyon - Located near Phoenix.
Rattlesnake Trail - Near Sabino Canyon northeast of Tucson.
Profanity Ridge - On Escudilla Mountain near Alpine, AZ.
