At last, smart appliances are making their way into our modern Glenview kitchens. Samsung now has a refrigerator featuring a touchscreen on its door where you can load apps to keep track of all sorts of things.
With this fridge and some apps, you'll be able to set different temps for different compartments within the applicance. Get the notepad app and you'll be able to leave notes for your family quickly and easily (without a paper and pencil) right on the door. Want something new and different for dinner tonight? Find a new recipe on the recipe app.
With your Google calendar app, you'll be able to see if there's somewhere else you need to be, and you can see what the weather will be like when you get there. All this from the smart new door of your refrigerator!
LG also offers a smart refrigerator, but this one has a friend, the stove. These two work together to make your kitchen even more efficient. By taking a picture of your shopping receipt with your smart phone, as you put things away in your refrigerator, it is able to keep track of what's inside itself. How cool is that? But that's not all, it will warn you when these food items are about to expire.
But there's still more that the LG smart refrigerator can do to help around the kitchen--it has the ability to suggest recipes for you. If you select one from its library, the fridge will even tell its buddy, the stove, to start pre-heating so the oven temperature is ready to bake when you're ready to put your cake or casserole in.
Now if it could just clear the table and load the dishwasher after your family eats, we'd really have something here. Who knows, maybe someday!
