Always . . . Patsy Cline to Return to Greenbrier Valley Theatre Stage

An audience favorite is returning to the stage this fall as Greenbrier Valley Theatre has added Always . . . Patsy Cline, a dinner theatre, to its October/November schedule.

The ever-popular two-person musical, which features 26 Patsy Cline songs, is based on the true story of the singer’s friendship with Houston housewife Louise Seger.

Kim Morgan DeanAudiences will be quite familiar with the show’s cast as GVT Artistic Director Cathey Sawyer takes on the role of Seger and GVT alum – and crowd pleaser – Kim Morgan Dean returns to take on the challenging role of country music legend Cline.

Always . . . Patsy Cline focuses on the evening in Houston’s Esquire Ballroom when Seger, who established a strong friendship with Cline after a chance meeting in 1961, learns of the singer’s untimely death in a plane crash in 1963.

Seger narrates while Cline floats in and out singing the songs that turned her into the country icon she remains today.

The show opens Oct. 26 at 7:30 p.m., with a preview/pay-what-you-wish performance on Oct. 25.

Additional dates are:  Oct. 27 and Nov. 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16 and 17.  All shows start at 7:30 p.m.

There will also be matinee performances at 2:00 PM on November 3 and 17.

Dinner, which is optional and available at an additional charge and requires reservations, will be served one hour before each performance.

Show and dinner tickets are available by phone at 304-645-3838, online at www.gvtheatre.org or in person at 113 E. Washington St. in  Lewisburg.

Any person or business interested in sponsoring the show, can do so by calling the GVT Development Office at 304-645-3838, ext. 5.

Rebecca, what an awesome show this will be! Thanx for promoting live theater! I used to do some Patsy Cline tunes in the band and still do if someone requests them. She had an incredible vocal range. I wish I could go to see this show...

Hi Rebecca,

I am from Tennessee and I really like Patsy Cline's music. Sounds like a wonderful theatre and post us some pictures when you go some night. As I have gotten older, I like C & W music.
