A Summer Rescue

Back in January when the L. A. Times dissed us in Seattle as a bunch of Snow Wimps, the entire region instantly came together in shared indignation. Those were fightin’ words and Northwest bloggers all over the area weaponed up, pointed their postings south, and fired off several canonical blasts over their blogs bow. One of the best shots was by KING 5’s Art Thiel (he made us all proud) with:
Critics of Seattle in snow: Shut the hell up

René Fabre on a Frosty Pop Ice Cream Truck.

But now in the dog days of summer on the other side of the year with temperatures in the high 80’s and getting warmer, those cold snowy days of winter seem so long ago. Hey, I’m not complaining. After last winter I promised myself I’d never complain about summertime heat again, especially to my southern California pals about how I'm wilting up here in the low 90's. I'm in no mood for a scrabble today. It's time for a summer rescue and I'm on a mission.

Let’s chill... and enjoy a Frosty Pop!

Footnote: As a blogger we're always on the lookout for material. Just back from a sales meeting in Seattle I pulled into the parking at the First American Title Kent branch. I'm see my coworker and friend Trasie Willis when we hear the ice cream truck music down the street. We both laugh as I pull out my iPhone. I see it, here it comes and snap off a few pic's as he drives by...

But the fun is just about to begin! Little did I know he pulls around the corner and enters the parking lot on the other end of building and drives right up to us. Looking at me (with a big grin) he says, "I want to take a picture of you driving the truck!" What a fun few minutes and a dream come true. Frosty Pop guy, you Rock! Thanks!

I'll take that ice cream sandwich in the upper right hand corner. Heck, I'll take 4 of them, those are my absolute favorite.

Rene, my brother lives on Bainbridge, and he often calls to sort of rub it in when you're at 80 and we're at 105!  I love the Seattle weather.

Rene...

Cool photo op and you took full advantage ... but did you buy a frosty pop? That would have been good on a hot day!

Debbie: I totally want one of these, at least for the summer!

Patricia: We do lose our rationality at just about 80 degrees... :0)

Endre: Oh oh... busted! When you here that ice cream truck off in the distance, don't be surprised if it's me!

Carla: That's what I thought. Some people look good in an Escalade, or a Corvette, or a Benz... me, an ice cream truck!

Richard: A whole box of them!
