Carlsbad Building Projects, The Summer of 2012

The architectural landscape in Carlsbad is changing, with a significant number of projects underway, much of this includes Carlsbad new homes for sale:

A few examples:

Voscana, new construction homes for sale near La Costa, one of the newest communities of Carlsbad townhomes for sale. Voscana homes are expected to be ready by the end of the year, with pricing beginning in the $400,000s.

The La Costa Collection – New La Costa townhomes near the Carlsbad Public Library; 53 homes under construction; no information yet on sizes, floor plans or pricing but a great location is very close proximity to shopping, dining, the library, the Cannon Art Gallery, and the new Cinepolis Luxury Cinemas.

Alga Norte Community Park – construction has started on this expansive park offering a wide range of facilities for Carlsbad residents, being built near the master planned community of La Costa Greens

Costa Pointe – 58 3-story luxury apartments, some with views of the La Costa Resort, the distant ocean and the Batiquitos Lagoon, are well underway on La Costa Avenue across from the La Costa Resort and are due in December 2012.

Combination retail and residential condo complex in Carlsbad Village – no specifics available yet, but it’s only 2 blocks from the beach and a block from my fave breakfast place, Café Elysa.

There are still a few new homes being built at Mirasol (La Costa Greens), Viridian (also La Costa Greens) and at The Foothills at Carlsbad (there are 3 communities with new homes for sale at Sago, Sycamore and Rock Rose), as well as in 3 communities in La Costa Oaks in the La Costa area of Rancho Santa Fe.

Palomar Airport Commons, a new retail complex anchored by Lowe’s Home Improvement, is being constructed at the corner of Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real near the airport. It looks just like a huge pile of dirt right at the moment but that’s just me. Original projections I saw had it being completed in 2012 – ain’t gonna happen.

Just completed – the new Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort and Spa on the Coast Road across from South Carlsbad State Beach (a.k.a. Ponto Beach). There is more to be built in this area just east of the Coast Road, north of La Costa Avenue and south of Ponto Road.
