Videolicious - Think of it as Animoto on the go.

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Harcourts - The Carl Group

Videolicious - Animoto on the Go

VideoliciousVideolicious is designed to allow us to produce quick and professional looking videos without any editing expertise. Videolicious for the iPhone and iPad walks you through a step by step process of combining video footage, photos and music. You can even add a voice-over. Once all of the elements are in place, the technology works its magic and produces a nifty little video in less than 60 seconds.

If you think it's similar to the technology used in Animoto, you are right. And much like Animoto, Videolicious has its place. Founder Matt Singer says the app is designed for those who want to get the best possible results in the least amount of time. For Real Estate professionals, it would be a great tool for producing a video on the go to share with buyers.

The relaunched Videolicious is getting good reviews by its users, but it's not designed to replace more sophisticated movie editing software such as iMovie and Final Cut. It is, however, a great launching point for those professionals who are reluctant to spend the time necessary to produce videos for their business.

Videolicious for On-the-Go Real Estate Professionals

VideoliciousIt seems to be a good option ( much like Animoto) for someone to produce decent videos without any expertise. In other words, the learning curve for Videolicious is non-existent. The technology is based on templates, and much like Animoto, the cookie-cutter technology might become all too familiar to viewers.

Videolicious does seem to deserve a spot in your bag of marketing tools. Especially for Real Estate professionals, the ability to produce a home tour video on the go makes good sense. However, if you want to produce videos longer than 60 seconds, you're going to have to upgrade.

In my opinion, in order for you to fully utilize the benefits of Videolicious in your Real Estate business, you will need to purchase the Business or Business Plus package. Keep in mind, if your long-term goal is to produce customized videos, then learning a more sophisticated movie editing program should also be part of your plans.

ViewHomes™ grew out of our passion for nature, beautiful surroundings, and peaceful environments. Starting together in an urban environment, over the years we've gravitated towards areas with smaller populations and less density. We now enjoy our lifestyle in a rural environment, but with close proximity to metropolitan areas where we appreciate all the amenities of fine restaurants, shopping, and an easy drive to an international airport.
Living in ViewHomes™ is like having “elbowroom for the soul”.

How cool is that! I'm heading over to iTunes now to check it out. Thanks for the heads up, the need to produce short videos in the field has arrived for me. I love synchronicity! Thanks Debb!

Debb, it might be worth it for a newbe like me, but if you have a Mac and iMovie why go elsewhere?

If it is as easy an Animoto, I might even be able to master it.  Sounds like it would be a good thing for my iPad.

Debb, just in time! I took some videos today for a buyer and wanted to send them without having to edit them in iMovie. This is just perfect!

Thanks Debb, I love Animoto. I took a look at videolicious and it looks great. I think it is too bad they don't have a version for Android.

Joan, it does have its place and should make it easy for iPad and iPhone users to create videos in the field.

Melissa - yes, it's a cool app. I don't see it replacing the "real thing" though.

I do hear ya Richie. :)

Bobbie, this should give you back a bit of time. Ha.

You are welcome Adrian.

I could never give up the creative aspect of video editing, but there is value is this easy and quick app. Thanks, Mark.

Exactly Q-man.

Roger Doger, you are so funny. I thought you were in charge of the Universe???

Kimberly, I think so too.

Cindy Lou - it has its place don't you think?

You are welcome Sue. But, if you decide to use both, the learning curve for Videolicious is zero.

Bryan, I know, that's a bummer isn't it?

You're welcome Dan, and I do wish you luck.

Jeffrey, yes do the research and let me know what YOU think.

You are welcome Amanda - AR is the best.

Hi Praful - I agree. Apple has a bit of a jump on the others.

Gary, Agree. And, too bad the free isn't about 3:0O, that would be PLENTY. ;)

Hi Anita, It is a good option. And the only way it could be easier is if somebody did it for us. Ha.

Hi Sharon, the only benefit to unlimited is the storage and support least IMHO. Who needs a vid longer than 10 Minutes? Geez.

Kathy, if you're out in the field, this would be a quick fix.

Jeff, glad you're happy with Animoto. Good audio is important, you're wise to consider that.

I always learn so much from you and the other video bloggers!  Thank you for sharing (now, do you think you could whisper that little ol' secret of Richard's in my ear?).  LOL!  He's right, right now I am only absorbing information.  I'll find out that secret when I am ready to put my video's into action.  Take care my friend.

Hi Thre Sandy, it doesn't seem fair!

Thanks Alexandra, glad you liked the rooster. ;)

Anna, feel free to call me anytime. D

Chris and Dick, you might eventually want to utilize both?

Tatyana, I've seen a couple of your do fabulous on camera.

Harry, good for you. I hope you find it useful.

Debbie. This makes it super easy in the field. Not much to learn.

Rene, so happy that this was timely for you. Let me know what you think.

Ha ha. Love it Ellen - true. The only reason I might use it is for out of twon buyers...taking a quick video out on tours.

Sharon, that is how I see using the app too. So happy you are going to find this useful. :)

John, no you didn't. Videolicious!

Good to see you Christine. You are welcome.

Great Tom, I could see it working in the field for you too.

Kristin - how nice of you ( and Laura). Isn't she great? Glad you found this informative.

Sharon, they did have one for Android, but it didn't work well and got horrible least I think I recall that. No doubt they're working on something now.

Debb, thanks for the review. I'll check it out. I'm always looking at apps that are simple to use. I have some that are just too much of a learning curve.

Gary, for some people it might be the best tool - easy to produce video is much better than NO video.
