11 Comments on Hawaii Admission Day - it's a holiday today on Maui!
Georgina, Happy Hawaiian Admission Day! Toasted coconut sounds delicious!! :)
Thanks Sonja, it's almost ready to eat!
Georgina~you are right to feel so lucky to live there--count your blessings every day! We love Maui and we got married there with some traditional Island ceremonial pieces intertwined in our wedding ceremony. It was a most perfect sunset and filled with joy! It sprinkled on us, and our minister, a woman, said that that was good luck. I loved every minute of it. We got married on Ulua Beach at sunset with a couple fishing in the water in the background as our only attendees.
It doesn't get any better than that.
WoW! I love Hawaii even more! Georgina, you are blessed!
Georgina - how interesting that Hawaii is that much of a "new state." It sounds like you celebrated in style. I think the next time I plan a trip to your wonderful island of Maui, I'd like to be there for this celebration.
I have not been to Maui yet but I have loved my visits to Big Island and Kauai. If I could live there I would 100%..There is a different spirit flowing through the islands sand it beckons. You are so fortunate.
Umm anything with coconut is great. Ceil is from Key West Fl and she introduced me to coconut, especiallly candy. Thanks for the history lesson.
Have a great week!
Thanks again for your comments! Hope you're all having a nice weekend.
Thanks for the Ah-ha moment!
Featured you in my Weekly Post!
Hope you had a great holiday! Statehood........the history of the various states becoming part of the country can be depressing when you study the truth behind what went on..............just saying.
Hi Georgina, I know you had a great Holiday and celebrated with fresh baked coconut.
It is a beautiful state. I have been there several times.
