I am very excited to be part of the committee to help organize this creative idea, Paseo Pastel, to celebrate St. Augustine's 450th Anniversary!. The St. Augustine Regional Council (StAR) will hold The First Annual St. Augustine Chalk Walk Festival - Paseo Pastel next March.
StAR studied similar Chalk Walks, such as the one in Pasadena California, and found that it was a great way to promote the community.
More than 70 artists are expected to create temporary art on 4x6 areas of sidewalk, for the Paseo Pastel, with cash prizes "for the most elegant and iconic images, honoring the specific theme of St. Augustine's Spanish Colonial History."
The St. Augustine Regional Council (StAR) is a group of professionals dedicated to promoting the St. Augustine community to individuals outside the region. The Chamber promotes St. Augustine to businesses. The Visitors & Convention Bureau promotes to visitors. StAR fills the gap by supporting the preservation and furtherance of the St. Augustine/St. Johns County regional area residential and commercial real estate industry. The group promotes the City’s image and advancement of the residential and commercial real estate industry as well as the community.
