One route onto Salt Spring Island....

A Trip to Fulford Harbour from Swartz Bay - this is the Victoria to Salt Spring Island route from Vancouver Island to Salt Spring. There are three different ferries that service Salt Spring Island, and this link is perhaps the most frequented.

Ferry Trip to Fulford Harbour
The ferry berth (usually #4) at Swartz Bay.

Cars are loaded on Ferry ready for 35 minute trip.

Pass out of Swartz Bay, tip of Piers Island on the far left.

Fulford Harbour, the inspiring mountain welcoming us is Mount Maxwell, a landmark for boaters.

Whether a cloudy day, whether in winter or in summer, whether a beautiful sunset ahead, Islanders breathe a sigh of relief when they see Maxwell encouraging them home....
