Here I sit, wondering how many of you get leads off of your website.  All the signs seem to point to the internet as the place to advertise and get leads.  It is the easiest and cheapest way to reach almost everyone.  I just do not know how successful one can be at it.  I have read stories of people who have done really well with it.  One agent had 83 transactions in 8 months and now sells what he call the 838 system.  Basically, he describes how to make a squeee page and do pay per click advertising (you pay when someone clicks on your weblink).  I have done some experimenting with the pay per click advertising.  I advertise on Google and pay have  50 dollar a month spending limit.  Not much, but enough to test the waters without going broke.  Google breaks down the results for you by the keywords you put in.  For example, x amount of people have searched for the keyword Oregon Realtors.  Then it tells you how many out of those people have clicked on your link and how much you paid for that click.  Summary:  I have been doing this for 9 days and have had 20 people click on my link which takes you to my John L. Scott webpage.  Glad to see 20 hits, but I have yet to capture any of those.  Reason?  I do not have a good squeeze page that asks for their information when they click on a certain link.  For 50 dollars a month, half if my lender goes in, I can create an awesome website that will get me a good squeeze page that will ask for their information when they click on certain links.  I am 90% sure that I will try this website in combination with my Google advertising and see what happens.  I can cancel either at anytime so the risk and cost is low, while giving me valuable information.  Now, back to my question.  Do any of you use anything like this and if so, how does it work for you?  Thank you for your input.

I think when you try to "squeeze" information out of people you end up getting an email box full of faked information.  Anybody who has a brain these days has a back-up email address that they use for just that purpose.  You want to create a site that gives people enough information to encourage them to contact you.

I agree, today's buyer doesn't want to be "sold" they want information in order to make a sound decision. Our role is more to help interpret and make sense of all the data the public now has access to and help them apply it to their needs.

Rian, ask them for the names of local people who have gotten business from their system.  They should be able to if it works, right?

Or ask for a free trial.

If the only answer to "How do I know it works?" is "Because they said so" you've got a problem.
