It's been a bit of a quest, but finally we have found true artisans at Atkinson Shoe Repair who have the skill and professional attitude to do excellent work.

Chuck took a pair of shoes that looked past help due to my dog's loving nibbles on the heel and transformed them into wearable shoes again. So wearable that I won't hesitate to even wear them when I am working. Now that is an accomplishment!

Not only that, but Chuck was very friendly and knowledgeable and more than willing to help me find the right stretcher to help with the arch in some boots so my high arch will be more comfy. I can't tell you how many questions I have asked in other shoe shops only to receive a short unhelpful answer, but this place was different.

He introduced me to the owner, who was working right along side his other employees, and they all have different areas they specialize in. Atkinson Shoe Repair has been voted Beaches Best Shoe Repair for many years, and they are the favored repair shop of several high end shoe shops in the Jacksonville area.

Carla's Shoes in Ponte Vedra Beach sent me to them and said that they even send people from the Deerwood Store (in the middle of Jacksonville) to this place because it is so good.

A bonus is that it is in the same shopping center as the Beach Hut, so you can drop off your shoes and have one of Jacksonville's Best Breakfasts according to all the awards on their wall (hamburgers are wonderful as well).

So if your cobbler isn't quite up to your standards, it's worth a trip to South Beach to see Chuck and the guys. They won't disappoint. They can even clean your vintage Louis Vuitton bags and make them sparkle.

They have my vote for Jacksonville's Best Shoe Repair Shop!

Shoe repair shops are hard to find these days....must be due to our throw away mentality. Great idea to promote their business and help people who aren't ready to part with their favorite shoes yet.

Pam, they are very hard to find and if you have good shoes, you don't want to take it to just anybody. I will gladly travel to the Beach for quality service. They said they even have people who mail shoes to them from Georgia. That will tell you something. Thanks for stopping by!

I am pleased to say that I've known Southpaw for many years....not only is he a TOP notch show and leather repair person, but also one of the best bass players in the land...
