6 Comments on HAFA Short Sales and Second Mortgages
Great post, Melissa.
We have less and less short sales in our area in Southeast Florida. Thank you again for great info!
Melissa, HAFA short sales are still going strong around the country...here short sales have been dwindling..I'd love to see your commentary on Credit Unions in the short sale environment...I'm hearing more & more that they won't negotiate what is owed to them on a short- have you found that to be a universal true statement (btw, i have a client who has 1 that may short sale)..
Melissa, the rules are forever changing and with the increased allowance for the second lien holder, just maybe a few will get done quicker. Of course if the first lien holder digs in their heels, it can get complicated.
Those second lenders often head straight for the $8500 and I have to say, whoa, is 6% of your unpaid balance more than $8,500? Ha, didn't think so.
Melissa, I appreciate this information! In Indiana you have to be bonded with the State Attorney General's Office now, so most agents in our area have a title company do the negotiations. It has worked out very well so far!
Melissa - As usual you have provided great information about what's going on in the short sale arena.
