Old Fashioned Lifestyle

Before our time there was a generation that combined several generations on a single property in order  to take care of each other.

This lifestyle offered numerous benefits.  The elderly took care of the young children allowing Mom and Dad to work on the family business.  They were also able to grow their food in part.

This system worked well on rural properties where there was also a family garden tended by the whole group.

Animals were raised to help teach values like responsibility.  Chickens do qualify in this sense as animals.

That also provided food sources that you could plan around.  The feed given to the animals was controlled and iffy stuff was not added for quick growth.

The children raised in this environment  learned basic wisdom from the elder generation .  They also learned love, respect and the thrill of success.

This was of course in the days before retirement facilities and day care centers.

We have  a property currently listed where the old fashioned life style was once practiced.

There are three homes, fruit trees, a stable, plot for a garden and a 2000 + or minus convenience store all on a fenced acre and a quarter.  The location is just a few miles from major roads and the center of Houston.  It is totally unrestricted.

Obviously this is a unique property.  The potential for an extended family returning to the old fashioned lifestyle  is tremendous.  It is also a marketing challenge!  What fun!
