Losing sight of the mission can lead to failure.

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Richard Weisser Realty

Losing sight of the mission can lead to failure. The precursor to accomplishment is purpose. In order to achieve, it is first necessary to define the ultimate goal.

It seems that lately it is harder and harder to remain focused on the mission at hand. Ancillary tangents continually reveal themselves and tend to pull us off course.

Distraction leads to diversion and that can be catastrophic. One must never lose sight of the satisfactory completion of any goal.

Because then, and only then, can the famous words be uttered:

“Mission accomplished!”

Richard, you are so right. When I am pulled from my target I try to keep the original target in my sight, but it isn't always easy!

Focus...maintaining the goal in sight always is key. Sometimes as real estate agents our job as seller's agent is to remind the seller to focus on the goal and not the iterations that do happen!

Hi Richard,  Agreed,,, it is very easy to become distracted.  Keeping our purpose (our "Big Why") on the top of our mind will help us stay focused.  Beautiful picture!

Good one Richard. I often feel like I need to be tied to the goal and pull myself toward it as it drifts down stream.

Andrea...

There are so many thing pulling at us every day. I don't know how we keep it all together on those days! THX.

Gary...

It is so easy to obsess over minutia. And in the end, all it can do is kill the deal. Thanks so much.

Karin...

Thanks for the kind words. I always try to choose a photo that helps make the point!

Cathy...

And if we lose sight, we are right back at square one. Thanks for jumping in.

Fernando...

It gets harder every day. Thanks my friend.

Richard ~ Some ancillary tangents in my day are people who are being paid to help me get to the goal, telling me why they can't do their part. Focus and perservere are right on.

Staying focused on goals is such an important thing for us to do in life and in business.  And being sure we have common goals with the ones we are in personal or private relationships with is criticial.
