Nashua, New Hampshire Goes Back To School - Free School Supplies

The Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce  and the City of Nashua are hosting  the 9th  Back to School celebration!

WHEN:  Thursday, August 23rd

TIME:     5:00 to 6:30 P.M.

WHERE: Nashua Public Library Library and Plaza  - 2 Court Street, Nashua, NH

Kids and their parents are encouraged to attend the Nashua Back to School Celebration.  In addition to free school supplies.

Since its inception, back to school celebration has aided more than 15,000 children and raised more than $80,000.   The number of students who receive supplies each year has grown in the past few years. Last year, about 2,000 students benefitted from the back to school event.

There will also be free snow cones, snack bags and Water.  Kiods can get their faces painted and there will be lots of activities. door prizes and games.

 More than 1500 attended this celebration last year!

• School supplies will be handed out to children - from first grade through high school
• Principals and teachers from Nashua's public and private schools will be on hand to welcome the kids and answer questions.
• The Health Department will provide free immunizations. Parents should bring a copy of their child's immunization record so it can be updated.  Vision screenings will be offered by the Nashua Lion's Club. A parent or guardian has to be present or provide written permission for immunizations and the vision screening.

Donations can include:

• pencils, pens, erasers, calculators, notebooks, pencil bags, index cards, scissors, notebook paper, clips,   backpacks, dictionaries, or anything that will make returning to school an exciting experience.
• Recycle extra pads of paper, post-its, pens, rulers, backpacks etc.

     For more information on donations call the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce at 881-8333.  They prefer monetary donations. Those donations can be used to get discounts on bulk orders of supplies.

Recycle those old lunch boxes, backpacks , binders, pencils, pens, book covers and other other items that a kid can use.  Kids in Nashua need your donation! .
