As promised, I will share some SEO tactics, of which some of you might already be familiar while others are not. It is a visibility game in the cyberspace today. To be noticed is the ultimate goal of everyone because it really matters to be successful – especially in an industry like real estate.

 

A common tactic employed by majority of real estate agents, brokers, and other professionals is the maintenance of niche-related blogs. Some own one while others keep two or more. This is because different blogs have different mechanisms. They are also treated differently by search engines, and they have their own battalions of followers.

WordPress is a leading blogging platform. Its contents are directly indexed by search engines. The use of keywords and tags are permitted so as the insertion of useful and relevant images. For maximum utilization for visibility, plug-ins can be added. Similar platforms like ActiveRain, Blogger, Nucleus, Posterous, and other content management suites have their own policies. But in general, they allow the use of keywords and tags too.

 

When you have a blog, it is important to establish authority. This is where linking to other blogs become crucial. Some blogs may already be prominent in its niche. Establishing a link through comments is a common way to increase traffic and visibility. It is possible for comments to be indexed by search engines especially when the right keywords are used. When dropping comments, be sure to establish your brand. Use the name of your business when possible. After leaving comment, check if it is automatically added or still needs approval by blog owner or moderator. Seek for guest blogging opportunities. They are perfect for redirecting site traffic and boosting visibility.

 

Submitting articles to various directories like Ezine, ArticleBase, ArticleSnatch, and several other article submission directories are also ideal ways for SEO. These sites allow the insertion of links to your main blog or website. The links may be placed in the body or in the author’s box.

 

Yahoo Answers and Wiki Answers may be tedious, but taking time to answer niche-related questions can be crucial to increase site traffic. These websites allow the placement of links to your site or blog via the sources section.

 

Mapping your blog and website to your social networking platforms is also SEO friendly. You can interlink these platforms for higher chances of visibility. Millions of internet users have social networking accounts so they are ideal platforms to expand your branding. FaceBook is one of the most widely used social platforms. Create a fan page and announce everything new with your business. Shares and likes can do wonders.

 

Microblog through Twitter. It’s a great portal to announce what’s going on with your business. See how retweets can influence awareness of your brand.

 

Make sure that in all of your platforms (blog, website, article directories, and social media) content is kept up-to-date. When possible, let everyone in the organization contribute in your SEO campaign and brand awareness efforts. Encourage them to link their personal blogs to the business blog or website. Ask them to be the first ones to like fan pages and to tweet events within your organization.
