Progress on the Sorg-designed Montrose Condominiums at 3050 R Street NW, a joint venture between Argos Group and Potomac Investment Properties, began approximately three weeks ago but may not all be visible from the exterior, much of which will remain due to historic considerations.

Montrose Condos Georgetown DC former Hurt Home Sample Plan

The former Hurt Home at 3050 R Street NW will have townhouse-style, bi-level condominium designs, with units ranging from 700 to 2400 SF within the 33,000 SF original building and addition of 1924. Some units will feature cathedral ceilings of up to 12' to 14' in height, according to Gilberto Cardenas, president of Argos Group. Ground floor units will offer generous patios (per plan) and others will feature balconies (per plan).

Thirty surface parking spaces will be available at The Montrose Condominiums.

Cardenas says the build should be complete in twelve months, with pre-sales beginning spring 2013. Pricing from 700s to 2M.

Susan, That is an interesting building and its age will give lots of character to its units. I imagine it will sell out quickly.

Agree, Joan. The DC landscape is once again lined with cranes and there are so many development projects of every kind that we really have a District-wide "makeover" in progress. A new Georgetown project, however, is a rarity and I know buyers will flock to this one.  How are things in Denver?
