Toni
The pineapple lily is a great looking plant and I have to tell you that I've never seen one before.
Good luck and success.

Toni - That's a lovely picture, with gorgeous blossoms! The little tops are similar to that of pineapples. It kind of reminds of that game, "Which of the following is most like the other."
What a beautiful flower Toni! My one lily in my yard died this year, and no wonder --- NO WATER!
Hi Toni, thanks for sharing,I have not seen this kind of lily before it is so beautiful.
Toni, just goes to show you what a vast variety of lilies there must be! This also looks like a bottle brush. Do you know if they have a fragrance?
What a pretty looking plant Toni and the shape is so unique. Your photo has captured all it's brilliance!
Mark - I hadn't seen them before either and had to take the picture
John - they are unusual but not new apparently.
Lou - that seems to be the consensus. :)
Myrl - when the flower tops first appear is when they most resemble the baby pineapples.
Joan - they are lovely, I'm sorry you lost yours.
Kwee - it is beautiful, I hadn't seen them before either.
William - you're welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Mona - I checked and couldn't detect one but there were several other flowers around it including a gardenia which may have over-powered it.
Larry & Sheila - thank you, it is unique.

hi Toni, That does look like a pineapple. I'm sure it would never survive in Colorado. I've been enjoy all the cool plants and flowers in California. there's a plant that looks like this but i think it is called a bottle brush bush. Very fun!

Toni, a unique flower and name...I need to see if I can find the plants around here.
Thank you everryone. The Pineapple Lily is lovely and I can see them in colorful pots on a patio. You can find places to buy the bulbs on the internet.
Barbara Jo- The Fresh Market has the plants here in our area.
Wow, Toni,
Thanks for bringing it to my attention, and you are right I love it...Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention. Little wonder I missed it, since mid June we have working 14 hour days with one weekend off, and another when Ron got sick. We are almost done with one of our biggest projects, Ron has been working on it mostly, and I am keeping up with everything else..it is good to have a mate on the same team. A
Alexandra - I knew you must have been busy and wanted to share her with you. Hope things clear a little soon but busy is good!
