I am always seeking talent, and in this market, there is more good talent available than ever before... In December, an agent with another brokerage referred to me a candidate for my listing coordinator position; am I ever so grateful! Cathy Smith joined The Kevin Cahill Group on January 2nd, and in just two weeks, she has accomplished so much.
The myth in our industry is that we real estate agents need to service our clients ourselves... that we need to take listings, enter them into the MLS, take photos, measure rooms, create flyers, place lawn signs, deliver pamphlets, create mailings, hold open houses, show our listings to everyone who calls in... And of course, we need to run buyers, write offers, present offers, negotiate offers, attend home inspections, negotiate repairs, meet the appraiser, coordinate with the lender and the title company, and bring our happy clients a nice gift at closing when we give them the keys! Whew!
The reality is that we can hire talent to take care of many of those non-dollar producing activities, and then enjoy our businesses more by focusing on our strengths, which better be LEAD GENERATION in this market.
Cathy has fine-tuned all of my advertising, revamping the entire marketing approach so that our listings receive more attention from prospective buyers. My listings now appear on websites that I previously never got around to visiting. My enhanced listings on Realtor.com look much better. My automatic response generation system is working a lot better, and I receive more phone calls from better qualified prospects.
If you can find talent, grab that talent and keep that talent... they will make a world of difference in your business and your life.
