I am starting a new career. I lost my job about a year and a half ago due to the company's downsizing in the United States and growing tremendously across the southern border and over seas as well. While employed with this large company I was buying and rehabing homes. I really enjoyed the whole process, it was especially fun riding around with the real estate agent looking at various differnt homes. Then once completed I also enjoyed having my new rehab listed by the real estate firm of my choice. This was a lot of fun for me so much fun I decided to enjoy the other side of real estate selling and listing. What am I thinking. This is a whole new ball game. School was not even close to fun more like **** if you know what I mean. I couldn't wait to get out of their with my very much deserved atta boy now go take the state test. Man! Phew after more hours of intense study I passed the state test after several hours of more study and comments like they have got to be kidding. Wow I did it, it is time to find the company I will be working with. Let me grab some one throw them into my car and go have a great time looking at houses. Man was I in for a surprise. School was only the scratching of the surface so to speak. There is so much to learn it scares me. Things like the MLS, Listing and Sales contracts, Tax info, How to and how not to in all catergories. I had my first call last week, a lady inquiring about a property she was interested in. I had been practicing this very situation and thought I was ready. Everything went blank, for a while I know absolutley nothing. I did end up with necessary responses, but, it was not easy or fun.

I am searching for similar experiences and advise. Anxiety I am hoping is normal. I am plowing forward and will be working hard to make this work.

Good Luck.  It amazes me that I am doing this for 12 years and I learn something new with every deal I do.

Vernon- Get a mentor. Like Dwayne said, this business is not the same every day. You need to shorten the learning curve.

this is a continuation of my blog above.  You have certainly come to the right place to learn.  Even though it is hard to get started, many do very well.  Be patient and learn from others.   It's all in the attitude you have.  You will do well. Good luck.
