Drew Meyers just announced that Zillow will be offering up all of their neighborhood boundary data through a Creative Commons license. From a technology provider this is pretty swanky cool news.  Don't be surprised if the new Localism redesign taps into some of this data.

Well if you're excited about it, that's gotta be good.

I have likely missed some sort of announcement or statement about localism so forgive the question: when is it going to be released, the new localism?

How accurate will it be? I don't have much faith in Zillow as a rule.....

But Zillow is often so out of touch with reality that I hardly ever us it!

Jonathan...

The thing that would surprise me more is if AR 'did not' tap into that data :)

Hey, I'll be curious about neighborhood boundaries because sometimes they are not as "set in stone" as everyone thinks!

I have to tell you that in my area, Zillow is usually unrealistic. I do use Zillow for posting listings, but the zestimates are usually off  50K over and under.

Hey, it's Drew from Zillow. I just want to make one thing totally clear -- these boundaries have nothing to do with Zestimates, and I'm not sure why people are trying to relate zestimate accuracy to neighborhood boundary accuracy.

Deborah & Jennifer - These boundary files are available for anyone to use and modify. If there are boundaries that are incorrect, please read this thread on our discussion board to learn the best way to give your feedback.
