Motivational Power Quote

Henry Ford Paved The Way

“It is better to sell a large number of cars at a reasonably

small margin than to sell fewer at a large margin of profit . . .

It enables a large number of people to buy and enjoy (the car)

and give a large number to men employment at a good wage.

Those are two aims I have in life.”

Henry Ford 1863 -1947, Founder of Ford Motor Company

As I see it . . . . . . .

Henry Ford paved the way

Henry Ford was an innovator and created the first affordable automobile in American, a car the people could afford to own.

But he also did something else that was very interesting that has slipped into the pages of history.

He felt that the work force in his automobile plant should be able to afford to own the cars they where building.

At the time the wages for an auto worker would not be enough for them to own a car.

Henry Ford changed the standards for the wages for the auto workers and the work force at Ford Motor Company became the highest paid in workers in the industry.

Henry ford paved the way for Americans to afford to own a Ford and the Ford work force to own a car that they were building. Henry Ford was a good businessman and the outcome was a win – win situation for car buyers, his work force and his business.

Great post! Ford has long been a hero of mine... love the Henry Ford museum in Detroit, Michigan. A lot of people don't realize the other industries he was a pioneer in. He truly did lead the way not only in automobiles, but in part in the industrialization of the US. He was a man who wasn't interested in the status quo or standing still. He had to constantly be innovating. What a great role model.

I am not the greatest advocate of Henry Ford. He did have one quote, that I thought was brilliant. He said, "If you think you can or you think you can't, you are probably right".

Henry Ford made a lot of money allowing others to make a good wage! Hard to argue with his premise.

Henry Ford was way ahead of his time as Rich said. He came up with a totally different management concept that is still a great model today.
