The Power of a Mentor - Pass it On

Reblogger
Home Stager with Feng Shui Manhattan Long Island #888

I've had so many mentors (My mother Carole comes to mind first) along with so many techers, friends, family, artists, business people and so forth. But really it is a reward like no other to have someone say they are inspired by you. It's wonderful and I recommend anyone and everyone to be a mentor to someone special.

Love and light,

Laura

Men·tor

1.a wise and trusted counselor or teacher.

2.an influential senior sponsor or supporter.

In my life, I have been blessed with dozens of mentors.  I have had spiritual mentors and business mentors.  Some have mentored me through one-on-one teaching or coaching.  Others I never met personally but they mentored me  through the words they penned in the hundreds of books I have read.

One of my passions is teaching what others have taught me.  In fact, it seems to me that the lessons would be  wasted if I didn't pass them on to someone else.  When I read a good book, I want to share with others.  When my coach shares a business or life principle with me, I want to spread the news.

It has been exciting to watch mentoring in action with my daughter.  She is an incredible photographer (www.BethLeePhotography.com).  Ok, I'm prejudice.  But really she is!    She has a God-given talent which has developed and grown through the mentors she has allowed to teach and coach her in this art over the last year:

See what I mean?  And what about this:

But I am also excited that Beth has chosen to pass along her knowledge and expertise and mentor her niece, one of my granddaughters, in photography. Bailey is only 14 years old, but when she expressed an interest in photography, Beth agreed to coach her.

Once again, I'm prejudiced - but I think that Bailey is doing pretty well under this mentorship.  Oh, and that cute model for Bailey below?  Another granddaughter!

Have you had mentors who counseled and trained you in some area of your life that you can now share with someone else?

Mentoring is powerful - pass it on.
