Fishhawk Lake Real Estate: Dream Create Own

By
Real Estate Agent with John L Scott Market Center 700512026

Invest in YOUR OWN.

Having had dream homes in my life of being a long-time single gal—prior to meeting my wonderful husband--(any home I owned felt that way and Fishhawk Lake Real Estate is no exception), and having rented skuzzy icky places, I have realized that being a homeowner brings such incredible rewards that I want to ALWAYS give people the hope to make that happen, first-time, 6th time, WHATEVER.

Have a Wishlist.Fishhawk Lake Real Estate: Wish Dream Create Own

If you have a “wishlist”, which I have had many times and changed it up according to my whims or life’s bumps, I tell people, WRITE IT DOWN. Believe that it will happen. IT DOES. Then ACT ON IT.  But, if you don’t take that first step, albeit a scary one for some, you will never allow yourself the chance to essentially invest in YOUR OWN.

Your home is where your heart is.

Let me use an example of a recent scenario that I’m working on. Single woman, who had to walk away from her vacation property a number of years ago. She has her own business, filed bankruptcy within the last year+. STILL, she’s had a dream. She has wanted to be back at that same vacation destination that she once loved that healed her heart every time she came there. (Yes, Fishhawk Lake Real Estate !!) She has some money put aside. She has gotten her credit score up to a fairly decent level—650—and she knows that in less than two years that bankruptcy will fall away.

Get creative.

She finds one of my Fishhawk Lake Real Estate properties that has been on the market for some time. It suits her PERFECTLY! The seller is MOTIVATED. We talk. I suggest a lease-option, which is out of my norm persay, but in this case will work so beautifully for both the seller (money finally coming in, as she’s retired, lives out of the country and wants to be done with this property, but having been a realtor she also still has her finger on the pulse of the reality of real estate today) and the buyer, who desperately wants to come back to Fishhawk Lake for heart-healing weekends, and just needs a bit more time before getting a loan.

Dreams come true.

Well, dreams CAN COME TRUE. We’ve worked out a viable plan for both of them and I feel like the Fairy Godmother who has waved my magic wand and made wishes come true!

The wishlist and writing it down, I've heard/read many people say it's important to write things down and only the positve.  Don't say "the house can't be two-story," but rather "it will be a lovely one-level."  The the power of positive thinking that Norman Vincent Peale wrote so well about.  A tough road for the woman, but she has a wishlist, and best wishes her way!

Gayle, if anyone can help people be creative it would be you.  Out of curiosity, when do you get paid?  Do you have to wait until the purchase option is exercised?  I hope you don't mind sharing the info...we are approached often on things like this and we always wonder about it.

Sharon, thank you for that....

Kathy, it's truly these success stories that do my heart good....especially when I hear about other realtors smearing our good name in the dirt!

Tatyana~I'm a FIRM BELIEVER in writing down the wishlist/dream list!  It has proven to be successful for me over and over since (at least) the 80s. What we have to agree to is that it will come to pass, but not necessarily in the time WE THINK. I have actually found that it happens faster sometimes than we thought, other times it's YEARS LATER. You have to believe and then let it go and do its thing!

Rob~I ALWAYS love how enthusiastic you are!

Roy, look at you throwing that "wish" in there, God Love Ya. Nice butterfly photo, too--I love butterflies!

Carla~I never thought of this consciously, because I've always been the Pollyanna of any group I'm in--so it's nice to have you "say it out loud"...be POSITIVE. She is on the road to acquiring another piece of paradise. Ironically, it is only two lots away from the place she walked away from!

Mona~great question! In this case, the seller is a retired realtor and (God Bless Her) she said that she will pay us half of the commission upon move-in of the client and the other half when she exercises the option to purchase and it closes. This was her idea! Am I blessed or WHAT???

Yeah, dreams do come true. The first step is to dream and then find ways to make your dream come true. Who knows? You might also met a fairy godmother along the way.

Hi Gayle,

I've enjoyed your blogs and the listings you sent me.  My plans are still a year or two away, but if you can set me up on a search in your MLS that can continue to send me listings and keep me aware of what's available I would be grateful.  Thanks so much!
