Crunch time to order Homeowners Insurance for S. Florida, Port St Lucie Real Estate closings. With Issac coming closer to the box-be prepared. For those who don't know there is an insurance box that once a named storm is in it, insurance companies will not write a policy. So if you plan on closing any real estate transactions in South Florida you need to bind the policy now. Most Likely Mon-Wed may not be an option and thus your closing will be delayed.

Great point on keeping the insurance on track.  What are the motivations, requirements, advantages, barriers, etc to deferring closing until the storm is gone?  Surely, banks won't fund on a property without binding insurance, right?  As a buyer, I wouldn't be in a rush to close and be in the path of an approaching storm.
