Similar to a hamster on a wheel I just keep going and going and going. Exerting just as much energy as running a marathon; however, the distance never proves astonishing and scenery always quite familiar with no one waiting at the finish line to congratulate me. Considered successful by most, respectable by many and crazy by a few, my career has managed to remain intact while running through the mine field that is real estate. No matter what CNN, FOX, or my Momma may have to say to the anxious general public, I just keep running. I keep getting up, hopping on my wheel and run like hell.
It isn’t where I am going that seems to matter, but that I give the very same amount of energy, determination and focus into the act of running. I run through phone call after phone call lathered in disappointment, frustration and basic anger at the state of the world. My legs just keep going, right-left and right through new construction meetings, home inspections, staging appointments and the ever so popular appraisal. Eyes forward I just keep on going, many days knowing I am going nowhere and fast.
Seven years of my life has been devoted to learning and mastering the woes of real estate. I have read thousands of books, attended hundreds of classes and slept through dozens of continuing education courses. I have done favor after favor; I have given advice and assistance without even considering compensation. I have walked dogs, washed dishes, made beds and swept porches for sellers. Many nights, weekends, even holidays have been spent with anxious buyers going over and over the pros and cons of each property. I have held hands, wiped tears and carried their stress on my shoulders as if it were mine. I have run with the weight of dozens of families all at once.
Who knew that the simple determination to get up each day and keep running would catapult my career to the top? I now am confident in all things real estate. There are few issues I can’t handle, and when one arises well, I just keep on running. After seven years, my running has led me to new paths. Top producing Realtors, new Realtors, developers even company owners are now hiring me to teach them how to run.
What started out as a simple desire to move forward regardless of how long it took has changed my career. Still I exert the same amount of energy, but for once the scenery is changing and sometimes, just sometimes there is someone at the finish line.
I am excited about coaching and consulting, even more excited that my many years of running are worth more than extremely tired feet.
If you need a running coach, that is one thing I know and I know it well. Give me call.
