Kids will be returning back to school in many communities next coming week. This will leave the pre-school age children of the family looking for things to do. So when I saw this sign advertising a Pre-K Literacy Program it got my attention. This is not only a program that will fulfill the social needs of the younger children in the house, but one that would also help them get a head start on their school years.
Kidsartspace Pre-K Creative Literacy Program ia a Non-Profit Creative Arts Studio that provides early reading, and writing skills through creative art lessons. The Kidsartspace Pre-K Creative Literacy Program runs on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with an optional social lunch hour from 11:00 - 12:00.
During the 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. time the children learn early literacy Skills which will teach them fundamentals that will help them to become proficient readers through:
- Reading
- Writing
- Phonics
- Comprehension
Though their creative art lessons they teach children greater self-esteem and critical thinking skills by use of:
- Storytelling with Pictures
- Painting with Numbers and Letters
- Exploring Shapes and Colors through Abstract Art
- Arts and Crafts to increase the Fine and Gross Motor Skills.
I wish a program like the Kidsartspace Pre-K Creative Literacy Program was around when my two boys were growing up, I would have definitely have enrolled them in it.
