Network Group - Scottsdale!
About 7 years ago, a chance meeting lead to what has become a longtime friendship, business partnership, and business opportunity. The chance meeting happened because someone was on vacation and I needed service. That chance meeting created the formation of Pinnacle One Group, a Networking Group in Scottsdale.
The chance meeting came about because of a real estate partner’s connection to a home inspector. I had sold a home while in this partnership and requested her home inspector for that inspection. Fortunately, for me, that home inspector was not available. The substitute was John Elson, Inspect-It 1st. John had just moved to Scottsdale from Chicagoland and became licensed in Arizona as a home inspector. We had a great inspection experience as I attend all of my home inspections. We became friends and I’ve requested John’s home inspection services ever since.
After our first inspection, John mentioned wanting to start a Networking Group in Scottsdale. He was a long time networker in Chicago and would travel long distances to meetings and made it his priority to attend. He had a great amount of experience with networking groups, something completely foreign to me.
John and I went on to discuss a Networking Group in Scottsdale. I had not networked much or been involved in forming a group, so I figured why not. As I was about to become an empty nester, I thought it would be a good idea, filling the void that children in Catholic education left behind. Much less the fact that I had left coaching previous to my real estate career and longed to start “something.”
Thus, Pinnacle One Group was formed. Affectionately known as POG, we are comprised of 12 great members who are “craftsmen of our trade,” a phrase borrowed from a former member, Sheri Nordstrom-Scott. Reviewing the definition of craftsman, the words: master, skilled, and making beautiful objects by hand can be found. I’d say that these folks strive to be the best in their business, earning business the old fashioned way, and always striving to do the right thing.
I guess it depends on your trade, but to me, this phrase
“Craftsmen” symbolizes our hand picked members of POG. Hand picked because all of them were referred in by other members. We choose one person per profession and they must be decision makers for their companies.
These folks are truly giving and responsive to any charitable project presented by the group. We have walked the Breast Cancer Walk annually, collected school supplies for homeless children, fed the
homeless numerous times, and just recently added the ALS walk in honor of a member’s brother who has ALS, and volunteering to man the check in table for 2000 students receiving free sports physicals, among other community efforts.
Our meeting today included two guests and hopefully we’ll recruit them as “like minded” business professionals. To me, Pinnacle one Group members are like family.
So if you're lacking that extra something to be grateful for, join a group that cares, like POG, a Networking Group in Scottsdale!
