Ocala Shrine Rodeo: Your chance to spend an exciting day watching rodeo contestants geared up to compete. Saddle and bareback bronco riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing and the always popular and most dangerous eight seconds in rodeo - bull riding!
The Ocala Civic Theater: Ocala Civic Theatre opens its season with the bawdy musical Best Little Whorehouse in Texas running Sept. 6-30. The theater is at 4337 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. Call 236-2274 or go to ocalacivictheatre.com for reservations.
First Friday Art Walk: Come and enjoy downtown Ocala on the square while you stroll around the “First Friday Art Walk”. An entertaining and educational time that provides fun for the whole family. Watch the artists paint and the live performances by local bands.
Kustom Cars and Rods: Take a look at some Kustom Cars and Rods at the car show at Don Garlits Museum of Drag Racing. Runs Sept. 8 at the museum, off of County Road 484 near Interstate 75.
Labor Day Picnic: Enjoy an old fashioned holiday weekend with a picnic. The Retired United Auto Workers' event starts at 11 a.m. Sept. 3 at American Legion Hall in Tuscawilla Park, Ocala.
