Cowboys QB Tony Romo's Galpal, Jessica Simpson, Avoids Dallas' Loss to Giants

Jessica Simpson

Contrary to reports from the news papers, magazines and even late night TV. Jessica did not doom the Cowboys in the Playoffs.

The truth is: the cowboys were slumping toward the end of the year while the giants were surging. As the playoffs were nearing the Cowboys as a team were not playing their best football. Their defense was giving up big plays, their offensive line was giving up sacks, tackles in the backfield of running backs and their receivers were dropping key passes.

Jessica did not play a single game for the Cowboys and even though she had Tony's attention, he continued to play well in his first full year as an NFL quarterback.

Remember that this same team was 9 and 7 a year ago, so overall it was a great season and the Cowboys have a lot to look forward to next year.

The uproar in the media about Jessica and Tony got me to thinking about something else far more important and significant in the human experience. Failure to take Responsibility!

Blame

Finding a scape goat seems easier than facing the TRUTH. George Bush has become a nice punching bag for troubled times. Watching late night TV he is portrayed as almost a caricature. If your grass is turning yellow, this winter chances are it is George Bush's fault. Can't sell a listing, you can blame George for messing up the economy. Buyers ski-dish, must be the boogey George.

The harsh truth is that presidents come and go every 4 or 8 years but many of those senators and congressmen (we have been re-electing) have been in office since George Washington was president. The left won't work with the right and the right won't work with the left and the centrists have no convictions about anything.

The harsh Truth is that we have allowed our pockets to be picked by Washington for years, through complacency, indifference and tolerance.Over the past decades Americans have been dazzled by the talent and charisma of Polaticians and community leaders but failed to check their character credentials.

Character over Talent People of high Character, integrity, honest, human compassion, individuals who have a capacity for empathy, those persons make the best leaders. It is easy to focus blame on a person or an incident but people of character take responsibility.

One last thought: We the people... can make a difference. I once read where Mother Theresa was asked by a man who had traveled a long distance to see her: "Can I go with you I want to change the world?" She turned to him and said: "Then go home and love your family". The best place for all of us to start is in our own homes, then our communities and then our cities and state. Who knows we may just change the world.

The media loves a good story.  That is why they love what is happening to real estate.  They should blame that on Jessica too.  Poor girl.  Hopefully the Pack doesn't faulter to the giants.  We will see.

Alan - I would agree with you, however, I have been taken with a beautiful woman in my day (she is now my wife, and yes, I am one luck SOB) and I can attest that there is nothing that can derail a man quicker, and by God's design, than a woman...

Alan- I couldn't agree with you more. The media likes to have fun with everything especially when it comes to real estate, sports, & stars! Have a great day!

If all else false, blame the girlfriend. The team or coaches would never admit to any fault.

Jeff:

Agree. The media does love to push a story, but we love to watch it too. Thanks for your comments

Chris:

I married a beautiful woman and I do understand how love can distract. However, the whole Cowboys team was not in love with Jessica, just Tony and he played pretty well all things considered. As a team the Cowboys did not play well toward the end of the year. Thanks for your comments.

Jason:

Thank you. Ditto for you. I enjoy reading your blog as well.

 Lisa:

Agree. It seems to be in our nature. From the beginning when God caught Adam and Eve in the garden in their disobedience we have learned how to lay blame and justify.

Good comments. Taking responsibility is the first step toward lasting change. We need to remember that when we elect our next President. Vote for the man or woman who will take responsibility for where we are as a nation not just talk about how they can change things.

Actually not. The over arching issue is personal responsibility. However, it is fun to use football to make the point after all I am a big fan. Ha

Alan,

The media is trying to put "sex" into the story as usual.

I agree with you, Giants were surging while Dallas was on the fence.

So much is psychological with sports. Too bad Dallas lost, but my Giants won!

Thanks for your comments but you don't have to rub it in. Yes, the Giants won. Ha. I actually think they have a great chance to go the the Superbowl.

Media loves to sensationalize...especially when they have a hot blonde to put on TV all the time (in a bikini in Mexico is a double-plus).

No one blamed the Packers' struggles in recent years on his Mrs. Favre's breast cancer...I'm sure that took his mind off of football longer than Jessica does Romo. WHY? Because it'd be a horrible thing to say out loud and secondly...because it could be true- and the media wouldn't want to touch anything the reeks of truth.

Don:

You are hateful but that is an Eagles Phan for you. Just remember, becase of the Playoffs each member of the Cowboy team got a great big bonus check (win or lose) while the Eagles cleaned out their lockers.

How about them Cowboys! Ha

Hi Alan:  That is some picture of the lovely Ms Simpson.  I emailed it to my brother, and he has been in a trance for the last three hours after he opened the email.  He is just sitting in front of his monitor screen... drooling.  I fear he may electrocute himself.  Thanks for sharing.

Alan.... Jerry Jones had to blame it on someone other than his prize QB.......  On a serious note.... Your team must show up and play like a team or you will loose as a team

That is funny. I laughed out loud. Hopefully he will recover.

Roland:

I have a theory about NFL football and fans. It is this: There are really only two kinds of football fans in the NFL. Dallas Cowboy fans and Dallas Cowboy haters. You my friend are in the latter catigory.

I fear lost in all this is the true article I wrote. Only the first paragraph is about the Cowboys. I think some may not be reading past that point. Oh well. Thanks for stopping by anyway.
