So, you're thinking of living in Scottsdale. Good choice. Of course, there are the obviouis reasons: weather, plenty of golf, great shopping and dining. But there is so much more.
If you are looking for a fun day with the kids check out McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, located at Scottsdale and Indian Bend Roads. When my kids were younger we went there often because there is so much to do. A favorite is the miniature narrow gauge railway that runs through the park. Go for a ride on that or on the antique carousel. Walk through one of the railway car museums or take a look at some model train set ups. Bring a picnic basket and enjoy lunch at one of the ramadas or bring a blanket and enjoy the open park spaces. There are spacious playgrounds as well. You really can spend hours here and have loads of fun.
