"Contemporary High Country" Style Connecticut Home Staging

This large Living Room in Heritage Village, Southbury CT, needed some lightening and brightening, as well as a defined floor plan for furniture placement.  Nestings Home Staging imbued this vacant condo with a "Contemporary High Country" style to attract the target buyer:  affluent 55+ from the New York area.

We removed the dated window treatment, as well as some of the builtins' shelves.  This made room for a lamp, as well as some art to brighten the room.  The view of the woods, a key selling feature, is not blocked by furniture.  The sofa is almost the same color as the walls, so it does not have a large presence in the room.  It has clean lines, with some tufting as a nod to more traditional pieces.  Bright pillows help brighten the space.

A stately chair with an antique look and a floor lamp were added to one side of the fireplace for a library feel.  The contemporary lamp contrasts nicely with the chair.

The two chairs, in bright white tufted leather, look out towards the view.  Since there was so much space, we added a wine bar behind this seating area.  This was a great opportunity to demonstrate added functionality as well as add more lighting.

I like to position the clock's hands at 5:05 - cocktail time!

Prior to Staging, this vacant condo was on the market for ten weeks, with very little interest in a crowded market.  After Staging, it had many showings, and sold in six weeks!

Julia -- nicely done.  Even with built-ins, it's simple to remove some shelves(and properly store them) to give the room a better appearance.  Great, as usual, before/after photos.   I like that the clock behind the new bar area  is set at just after 5 -- just in time for happy hour somewhere in the world.

Julie - I'm also a huge fan of that clock, perfectly set at 5:05pm - cheers to that!  Adding furniture to the space really gives the unit warmth and vitality.  Perfect furniture choices for that 55+ sophisticated New York buyer!

It's five o'clock somewhere!

Michael - I do like to give shelves more space!

Thanks, Sally - it worked!

Thank you, kathy!  Love that clock too, but I probably should have used a very large mirror.

Great job, Julia. What a night/day difference. I just had my sister come over to my warehouse and she picked out a clock for her living room. She made mention that it didn't have a battery. LOL. All of my clocks do not have batteries. However, unlike you, I don't set them to a certain time. Perhaps I should (smile).

Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.

Anna - hahaha!  There WERE empty wine bottles!  But I brought them in empty - had fun with that little project - LOL

Thank you for the feature, Kathy!  I don't bother w/ batteries - 5:05 suits me just fine!
