We did lose an American Icon. Our generation got to share in the excitement of man landing on the moon.
When you stop to think about it Neil Armstrong was our era's Columbus. The first human to step off this rock called, Earth, and land on another rock! I remember that day in 1969 like it was yesterday!

Yes we lost a great man and he will go down in our history books as someone who pushed the space race ahead for the USA and for the world. I saw on TV where he was so well liked by everyone and liked to speak to children. He has certainly gone far beyond and will be missed.

We did lose an American icon. Such a remarkable and humble man. He will be missed. I can only imagine the memories and photos he probably kept for himself and his family of that incredible day in 1969...being the first man to land on the moon!
