12 Comments on The Faces of Ella Smither: Ruby Wright
You know I love your stories about the residents at Ella Smither and this one does not disappoint. Miss Ruby sounds delightful and I'm so happy she loves living there and your visits to paint her nails. They are blessed to have you Miss Joni, and likewise, I'm sure. TPM will enjoy her visit with the ladies (and gents) while you're on vacation. BTW, if anyone ever questions why "I love you" all they have to do is read this post! ;~) It shows how big your heart is and how much love you have to share.
You are setting a good example for all of us. Spending some time with seniors can be a very rewarding experience.
Enjoy the week with your camera in hand to capture the special moments.
Joni, you are one special lady! So special! Enjoy your time away knowing TPM is going to be having the time of her life and so will Miss Ruby!!
What a great story. I'm sure you made Miss Ruby's year! Enjoy your camping trip to Colorado. Where are you headed? Estes Park???? The weather is still very warm. In the 90's yesterday but much cooler in the mountains. Have a safe and fun trip.
Joni, you are right those in Nursing Homes are just like you and me, it is just that they have reached a point in their lives that they require a little more assistance than you and I need. But there is a fear factor when it comes to Nursing Homes, mainly because many people have not had the experience of being involved with one, and there is always fear in the unknown.
Joni, That is so true, these homes are avoided. You are a good soul to visit and be blessed. I visited often when my parents were alive and they lived there. I got to know many of the residents.
Joni,
Very powerful blog and you make a lot of excellent comments. Folks in nursing homes need company and you are a really great person to do that and you enjoy your time there. I will suggest your blog..
Joni,
That was one of the best blogs I have read! What a kind lady you are! I hope I catch you before you go on your vacation and that you a have a great time, looking foward to your pictures!
Joni: You are such a caring and uplifting person and I know the ladies at the nursing home must adore you! Have fun on your vacation.
Joni, I know you spend lots of times with these friends, and KUDOS for taking time out of your busy day to spend quality time with Ella, Ruby and their friends!
Joni those visit are appreciated. I remember when my son was young and I visited one of the local nursing home the residents were so delighted to see him. He use to bounce a blown up balloon around and you should see how this little activity brought smiles to their faces.
