This monster appeared at my shed yesterday and almost gave me a heart attack. I’m not afraid of spiders, I give Black Widows a wide berth, and the Brown Recluse is never welcome near the house, but I try to let the others do their stuff we have had amazing garden orb spiders almost every year at our house.
Be warned, this thing could eat a cat!!!
Looks like I’ll be bringing a machete to the shed in future!

David, I'm looking at the size of that nail head and the wood and thinking - 2x6 and that thing is BIG. Wow - we have lizards about that size - but not spiders. Goodness.

Ewwwwww! You made my skin crawl. When we were just in southern utah in June, we came across a HUGE spider we'd never seen before. Actually, my youngest son discovered it when it landed on him in the shower. I looked it up and it was called a camel spider, often mistaken for a scorpion. Body alone was over an inch, legs an additional inch in each direction at least. Ewwww again! Thanks for sharing.
