With summer coming to a close and September upon us, the search for homes in Silver Spring, MD may begin to slow. If (and when) this happens, homeowners and Realtors will need to collaborate in an effort to refresh and invigorate a listing.
Here are some ideas to help jumpstart that process:
- Stage in Season
Fall is just around the corner, and this new season brings with it new colors. Off-set earth tones with a splash of bright orange or vibrant red to catch buyers’ eyes. If possible (or applicable), rearrange furniture to create a warmer atmosphere that is more conducive to indoor social activities. Arrange chairs around a chess board on a round table, or place them in closer proximity of a fireplace or bookshelf. When decorating, be inspired by thoughts of crunchy leaves, hayrides, and pumpkin carvings.
- Scents in Season
Fill your home with fragrances of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, apple cider or other recognizable autumn scents for open houses.
- New Photography
Now that you have updated your home to reflect the new season, take new pictures to showcase these changes in brochures and on the MLS. All of this work will be pointless if it’s not represented in all of your home’s marketing materials.
- Price it Right
Has your home been sitting longer than the market’s average for your price range? If so, it’s time to discuss a price reduction with your Silver Spring, MD Realtor. While this is never a fun conversation, it is more critical now than ever to price accurately.
