Actually, I have two new favorite blogs, but I'm sharing only one of them today.  It could be said that I've learned more from a blog named Presentation Zen than any other site.   I've probably learned more from the blog than I did while in business school.

It's that good ... and informative ... and cool.

My presentation style is very important to me.  So is the effectiveness of my PowerPoint presentations.  They happen to be the tools that I use to craft a living.

I would think that real estate agents, particularly listing agents, are equally concerned about making powerful statements to prospective clients.  After all, communication is everything.

Garr Reynolds, the host of Presentation Zen has recently published a book by the same name.  Hopefully, my copy will arrive soon.

Seth Godin called the guy a guru and published a Squidoo Lens as a tribute to the new book.  Click here to visit Seth's Lens.

Check out Garr's blog and let me know your thoughts.

See: My other new favorite blog.

I also love Presentation Zen.  I wrote about Garr's blog on my Active Rain Blog a few months ago.  He has such great ideas, clean presentations and loads of solid advice.

Glad there is another FAN of Presentation Zen on AR.

Live good. Be happy.

Very cool blog.  I bet with the campaigning going on, he will have fodder for months.  It is so interesting to read about public speakers when you realize that what comes across so natural and likable is really quite calculated.

Sara - I believe that public speaking is a direct path to professional development and personal growth.  It forces us to think, express our passions, and reveal our inner selves.  Great public speaking is a combination of preparedness and spontaneous dialog with the audience.

Audrey -  You're very welcome.  I find that sites like Presentation Zen give me a reason to dream about what might be.

Debe - I'd love to know your thoughts about the site after visiting it.

Lisa and Robert - I agree, it's a keeper.  Keep that sword nice and sharp.

If Seth Godin created a lens about this, I know it's definitely on the must-read list. With the challenging markets that many real estate agents face, quality of communication becomes even more of an issue. This site and book looks like it can really help us step up our presentations in 2008.

Thanks for the blog reference. That is the third new one I've been turned on to today. Must be a good day. But I'm running out of reading time.

Linda  - I'm like you.  I buy a book only to shelf it after reading a couple of pages.  I don't PZ is going to be like that considering the quality of the blog.

Bill - I'm glad you like the site.  I could give up everything on TV except for Gunsmoke reruns.

Gary and Richard - You guys are the best.  I can't look at a tube of toothpaste without thinking of your classic post.

Eric - It was entirely my pleasure.  Thanks for stopping by.

James - Maybe a group dealing with presentation performance in general would be a cool idea.  I'm not interested in doing it alone.  Maybe it's something we could do as a joint venture.

Hey Linda - Your very welcome!

John - I'm thinking that personal communication skills are the key to success in 2008.  We have so many forums available to us from sophisticated web-sites to the time honored podium in front of a room full of people.  I think a successful communicator has to know how to harvest the rewards of each of the options.

Karl - Enjoy them all and be sure to share them with the community.

Eliese - I'll share the other blog later today.  Steamboat Springs: I'm jealous.

Jimmy - Passion is the key to success.  I hope you enjoy PZ.

Ed -- Timely suggestion. . .a resource I can use as my business grows.  BTW I love the phrase you used "craft a living"  -- as an amateur artist, it really struck me. . .

Hi Lori

I wrote, and then wrote again, that particular sentence a number of times before feeling comfortable with it.   About eighteen months ago, I decided to throw all "caution to the wind" to pursue a career as a professional speaker.   That's the craft to which I referred.  I'd love to know more about your art.

Hi Ed -- I entertain myself by dabbling in silversmithing. I am usually working to design unique jewelry. . .fun stuff!  I get to use a torch, pliers and drill press.  I'm one of the few women who doesn't mind getting tools as a gift!
