Neil Armstrong
“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”
As a kid many of us watched as Neil Armstrong climbed down that ladder and spoke the words bringing the world together for just a little while. “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” A few men live on long after they leave this earth. Neil Armstrong is among those few. Neil Armstrong a pioneer, hero, superman, honorable man and now one giant loss for mankind.

I too can still remember that day. I actually watched it in a hotel in Venice, Italy. Extra proud to be an American that day.
I watched at my grandparent's house in Chicago. I was 12. Just about the coolest thing ever during that summer. Definately cooler than the Cubs losing to the Mets. That still hurts.
Many years ago Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were guest speakers at a Sky Ranch Conference. Hearing them speak and then having the opportunity to shake their hands was something I shall never forget.
Seems like it was just yesterday that history was made by Neil Armstrong.
Hi John. Those were exciting times and we found out the moon wasn't made of cheese.
John, Neil's words united a country with unbridled pride. He will live in our minds forever! Enjoy your day!
He was quite a man. I read his "obituary" and was amazed with all his accomplishments.
Yes, it is very sad. Great picture/great quote. So amazing to think back at what a big impact he had.
Good morning John. Such a nice piece, and you are right, some people just make that kind of impression that lasts forever.
It still amazes me, it was a moment in history that all of us who were around will remember - just like 11/22/63 and 9/11/01 - and he was a real statesman!
A quiet hero and a great American. It really is a loss for America.
This is a very nice tribute. When we have challenges to overcome, all of them are minor in comparison with a walk on the moon.
Have an outstanding day and a very special holiday weekend. Be sure to have your camera in hand to capture the special moments that you will want to share.
Hi John, thanks for a tribute to a great man who was so much a part of our history.
AMERICA LEADS !
Have an awesome weekend.
Hi John -- when I think of Neil Armstrong -- the term humble hero comes to mind. Thanks for sharing the image.
John
I can remember watching on an old black and white TV. I still have the pictures in my mind of when they were there. cheers cvc
John~ there were many things that could have been profoundly said, Neil Armstrong knew how to do it! Great post,,, BTW: blue moon tonight, I thought it was interesting finding out how in the 70's it got named...Two more years for the next blue moon!!!
John,
It was the beginning of thinking outside the box big time...Have a great weekend, A
That day we took our kids out in the backyard with the telescope to view the moon in remembrance of what he did for our country.
John, I remember watching that while working at a Tavern my dad owned in Chicago.
