Your Triangle, NC Staycation!

Do you want to have a relaxing vacation, but don’t want to spend the time or the money heading out of town? Look no further than your own backyard... literally! Staying in your hometown during a summer vacation, or a “staycation” doesn’t have to be boring. In fact, it can be downright fun.

Looking for things to do while on your staycation? There are many things to do in the Triangle NC. Here is a week in the life of a staycation. Of course, feel free to change it up and make it your own but most of all, have a blast!

Day 1: Swimming! Enjoy your neighborhood pool or cool off at Jordan Lake swimming beach
Day 2: Park it - Ride the train at Pullen Park, Rent a boat at Lake Johnson, or picnic at Duke Gardens with the family
Day 3: Take a Hike - Enjoy the natural sights and sounds of the outdoors! Great hiking trails can be found at the American Tobacco Trail, Umstead Park, Fred G. Bond Park, Cary Greenways, and Eno River Park
Day 4: Enjoy the Arts - Catch a show at the DPAC, Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, Koka Booth Amphitheatre, Raleigh Amphitheatre or Brightleaf Square, or take in the sights of special exhibits at the North Carolina Museum of Art
Day 5: Healthy Eats - Support local farmers! Smell the flowers, get local produce, or have lunch at the Raleigh Farmers Market
Day 6: Powerwash your home and get it ready for fall, just checking to see if you are reading this :O)
Day 7: Shopping Spree - Check out the outlet malls around the Triangle and stock up for school or get a little black dress for a special night out, like the Tanger Outlet Mall just outside of the Triangle area
