I have worked in marketing and public relations for over 10 years.  I have also owned my own PR firm since 2003 (VIDA PR & Marketing Group-www.onevida.com).  In that time, I also became a luxury realtor.  Yes, I have been busy, but that is not why I tell you all of this...

We all know that public open house events are a great way to meet new clients, and that broker open houses are a great way t get other Realtors in to preview your listing, but have you all been doing private, invitation only events in your upper end properties to specifically target your ideal buyer?  If you sell luxury homes, this is a great tactic to get exactly who you want in the door, without a lot of useless traffic.  Not to mention an excuse to throw a really great party! Some market area research, great food and ambiance, and top notch marketing materials in house are the great start to a well thought out, better than usual marketing opportunity for your property.  You can also do this for other properties where you target certain types of markets (ie- Hispanic market, etc.).  There are limitless opportunities for this type of event.   

I am currently offering my services to area Realtors to plan and market their events.  Would you pay someone to plan a private open house event for you?  Are any of you already doing this?

Dominique:  Very interesting post... how is the draw with this service that you offer?  I assume most agents are trying to cut corners but does the luxury niche give you more options?

Hi Richard,

 I offer this service as an Event Publicist to other Realtors.  They generally include that service as a part of their marketing effort and hope to recoup it from the sell of the property. Right now, doing anything to draw more clients, in any market, gives you more options! :-)
