Bernal Heights Hillside Supper Club needs your help!

Hillside Supper Club started about a year ago as a pop-up restaurant brought to you by chef/owners Jonathan Sutton and Tony Ferrari. They are a neighborhood restaurant in San Francisco next to Precita Park surrounded by the community of Bernal Heights. Our Supper Club is a social, casual gathering of people who enjoy eating and drinking, love good food, and like to meet new friends. Our vision is to produce simple, locally sourced, market driven, seasonal food, using, of course, proper cooking techniques. They have always dreamed of having their own dining establishment, and now along with your support and the community's involvement, their dream is finally close to being realized! Bernal Heights Hillside Supper Club needs your help!

By this fall, they plan to be open six nights a week for dinner, self-service lunch (to include picnics in Precita Park), and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. In addition, we will hold special dinners/classes with local farmers, artisans, wine makers, and butchers. We will stay involved with Slow Food and other local food communities to share food and nutritional education with others, especially the next generation of children. Once a month we plan to bring back an original 50's "supper club" where we encourage guests to dress the part, with live bands and singers performing. We want to host "HSC movie in the park" events in Precita Park that will feature classic films along with hot beverages and popcorn.

Bernal Heights Hillside Supper Club needs your help! This is an ambitious project that takes lots of thought, money, passion, experience and time. They have invested so much already, thanks to the help of their family and friends. By developing this restaurant they will contribute to building the unique and enjoyable neighborhood of Bernal Heights for both locals and visitors. Some of our business neighbors include Harvest Hills, Precita Park Cafe, and Charlie's Place (which is opening a wine and beer lounge very soon too).

They need to raise $200,000 to open there restaurant this fall. The goal of $25,000 received from this campaign will allow them the initial capital to begin a small remodel and properly equip the kitchen and bar. The goal of $25,000 is an all-or-nothing proposition; if they don’t reach this goal, they won’t receive any of the money. But on the other hand, if they do reach or, better, exceed the goal, we all get cool rewards, and they can get started with the remodel. So, be a part of the dream! If only 250 people pledge $100, they will reach their goal – it's that easy! And of course if you want more cool prizes, keep pledging – they could use the extra funds towards the final $200,000

Does that mean that Cozzelino's is closing?  How sad... whenever I work in Bernal, on that side of the hill, I take my crew for lunch at Cozzelino's.  But, I love the idea of a supper club and will lend my support :)
