The Laws of Getting Out of Town for Realtors
I thought WE had a super cool MeetUp on the water here in Tarpon Springs Florida today and then I read Pat Kennedy's blog post about having an ActiveRain MeetUp at 110 Rue de Rennes in PARIS FRANCE and now I wish I could have fit into her suitcase!!!! HOW I LOVE AND MISS THAT CITY!!!!!
Remember, we all want to see LOTS of photos, Pat!!!!! Have a blast!
Yesterday was take off time take off time for Paris. And while I thought this trip was going to be exceptionally well organized, well, stuff happens.
- An agent who is my new best friend called to register an offer on a listing I've had pretty much forever. That created a flurry of activity that made me happy but was not expected.
- A favorite client called having a meltdown about problems she was having involving really bad service from an estate attorney - luckily not one I recommended.
- I took a long shower before leaving for the airport. Then when I went downstairs to get some coffee, I stepped on one of the oriental rugs in the living room. It was wet. And there was a steady stream of water making it wetter. Had to call our wonderful house and Willie sitter to tell him not to use the front bathroom. The drip eventually stopped, and I'll call a plumber when we get home.
- We got to the airport two and a half hours early, only to learn that United Airlines was having a computer meltdown on their entire system, and they were going to have to check in thousands of passengers and their luggage manually - without the benefit of the information that was supposed to be on their computers.
- The good thing, the plane did not take off on time without us. It left a couple of hours late, but it did leave! Whoo Hoo! And more important, they got us and out luggage to Paris safely.
So now we are in my favorite city on the entire planet, a little bit jet lagged but forcing ourselves to stay awake until about 9:00 pm Paris time. I went out with my camera on my shoulder and am having a great time snapping shots of all kinds of stuff I never noticed on previous trips.
And the WiFi works, so I can blog!
Just had dinner from my favorite pate and cheese place, with a bottle or great local wine. So whatever the hassles might be in getting out of town, I'm really glad to be here.
And to all of you stateside, have a great Rain Camp. To anyone here, please come to our Active Rain meetup at 110 Rue de Rennes!
