I recently purchased the best toolkit available for the staging woman. Now I'm not too sur
e how many of you stagers out there are already familiar with it, but after doing a blog search I only found a couple posts on Barbara K. So I thought, why not just post a blog about it anyway...for those who have not heard of it, or are staging newbies like me :)
Barbara K (http://www.barbarak.com/) created these amazing tools at a time there were no tools were made specifically for women, and here she found the perfect niche. The tools are ergonomically designed to fit our hands much better than other typical tools. Some are a bit smaller, lightweight and have better-shaped handles, and the quality is just as high as any other tool made by Black and Decker or Craftsman.
I bought the tool kit and power screwdriver pictured here and they work wonderfully! I am a small person with small hands and these fit me perfectly. The toolkit comes with quite a few items packed into a small, lightweight case (even the handle is shaped to grip!)
- 6-in-1 screwdriver
- 16 pc hex keys
- 2-in-1 level (magnetic!)
- 7-oz hammer
- 6-in-1 putty knife
- 6" adjustable wrench
- 6" slip joint pliers
- 10' measuring tape
- assorted hardware (nails, screws, picture hooks, plastic anchors)
- 84 page "How To" booklet
The Power screwdriver has an adjustable handle to allow you to reach into those tight spaces and has a small pull out re-chargable battery. The only thing I don't like about the power screwdriver is it doesn't come with a carrying case...
This toolkit is the answer to all of our home staging prayers. Whether you just need it to help you hang pictures or shelves, or to fix a leaky faucet or patch a hole in the wall, this kit's got it all! I hope I have enlightened at least a few on you out there!
PS: you can always try to see if you can find a local retailer: http://www.barbarak.com/stores.php so you don't have to wait because it's on back order.
Good, kit but don't forget to carry a roll of duct tape it keeps the world together.
